This story is a beautiful blend of magic, fantasy, science fiction, and tragedy, complete with flawed and believable characters. I couldn't put The Salamander Stone down! Fans of modern fantasy with a paranormal new-age twist will devour this excellent YA novel.

Totally refreshing. C.J. Fenge pens her characters well. They are well developed and interesting and I would love to see a sequel written for the book. A must read for all who love the magical/spiritual genre.

Jennifer Golub (Waiting on Sunday to drown)

I read the book in two sittings. The main characters are very well developed, and you really feel for them throughout the book. I really got sucked into the mystery of what the school was up to, and how it tied to the Nazis. This book would be great for middle grade to adult, and both boys and girls should love it.

As an urban fantasy, reading The Salamander Stone was extremely unique - the system of magic or "Vril" was a concept that was new to me, and seeing the concept used around the book was enjoyable and refreshing! exciting read, with a great development of plot and characters and a great share of action! I recommend this to fans of fantasy looking for something different but refreshing,
